  • Create “City Safe Ambassadors” to patrol the CBD, ready to assist anybody who needs help.
  • Improve street security with additional CCTV cameras and push for more police on the streets.
  • Improve waste management and rubbish collection in the City’s streets and lanes. Clean streets will be a priority.
  • Zero tolerance of graffiti tagging. Support increased penalties for graffiti vandals.
  • Relieve city traffic congestion, push for better public transport, improve traffic management and access to the City.
  • Introduce new Safe City Taxi Ranks, increase nightriders services and improve short-term parking arrangements.
  • Make the City safer for cyclists and pedestrians: Push for 40km speed limit in CBD to protect pedestrians. Invest in improvements to bike paths and provide more transit space for cyclists. Support the introduction of rubber infill in tram tracks, removing a major hazard to cyclists. Introduce “Safe Cycling” education programs.
